Both American redcross and American Heart Association(AHA) classes are equivalent.Some Institutions may prefer one over the other. If needing AHA certification, please select the course that begins with AHA. All our listed classes are Blended(BL)-Have an online portion of class. Please note BL(Blended) does not mean BLS(Basic Life Support/CPR for Healthcare)

Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare professionals trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality CPR, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED.

HeartCode BLS is the AHA’s blended learning delivery method for the BLS Course. HeartCode blended learning delivers quality resuscitation education regardless of where providers are located and gives them more control to complete the course at their own pace. Providers first complete the online portion of HeartCode BLS and then complete a hands-on skills session with an AHA BLS Instructor or on a simulation station.

This product has been updated with new science from the 2020 Guidelines for CPR and ECC and replaces the previous version (15-3254). If you are a student, please confirm with your Training Center that this is the appropriate product for your training.

This course will prepare you to recognize and care for a variety of first aid, breathing, and cardiac emergencies involving adults, children and infants and meets OSHA/workplace requirements. This is a blended learning course including an online portion and an instructor-led classroom skill session. The online portion must be completed prior to attending the in-class portion and must be taken on a PC or tablet with a high-speed Internet connection. Allow approximately 2 hours 30 minutes to complete the online portion. Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive a digital certificate for Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED valid for two years.

(Please Note: BL means Blended Learning.  This is not a BLS certification class)

The 2021 Basic Life Support (BLS) course provides healthcare providers and public safety professionals the knowledge and skills necessary to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adult, child and infant patients. Consistent with the American Red Cross Focused Updates and Guidelines 2020, BLS is the foundational CPR/AED program typically required for healthcare providers and public safety professionals. Through the use of lecture, skills demonstration, practice and case-based emergency response scenarios with a focus on team-based response, BLS builds the key critical thinking, problem solving, and team dynamic skills that are needed to drive better patient outcomes. Upon successful completion of the course, learners will receive a 2-year Basic Life Support digital certificate with anytime, anywhere access to certificate and training history.

Life-threatening emergencies happen every day in the workplace, in our homes and in our community.  The Red Cross Until Help Arrives, non-certification online course, developed in collaboration with the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), will provide the general public with the basic yet critical key actions that can be taken during a life-threatening emergency that can help sustain or save a life until EMS arrives. In this course, participants will learn how to:

  • Act with Confidence: Learn compression only CPR (no breaths) to save or sustain a life.
  • Understand AED basics: Gain knowledge on where to find and how to use an AED.
  • Identify and treat a choking incident: Quickly recognize a choking situation and learn what you can do to help.
  • Proper treatment for life-threatening bleeding: Learn how to use pressure to stop bleeding as well as how to use a tourniquet and proper treatment after the bleeding stops.
  • Respond to an overdose: Understand how to administer naloxone in an opioid overdose.
The BLS Instructor Course has been developed to equip instructor candidates with the skills to teach AHA Instructor-led and blended learning courses.
 
This course offers instructor candidates comprehensive instruction on the effective application of AHA Instructor teaching materials, methods for ensuring students achieve learning objectives, student coaching techniques, objective skills performance evaluations, and adherence to AHA Instructor and course policies. The curriculum includes both core content and discipline-specific content necessary for teaching AHA courses.

ACLS is an advanced course that builds on the foundation of lifesaving BLS skills, emphasizing the importance of continuous, high-quality CPR, and high-performance team dynamics. ACLS is geared towards healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies and for personnel in emergency response

In this course, You will learn:  

  • Basic life support skills, including effective chest compressions, use of a bag-mask device, and use of an AED
  • Recognition and early management of respiratory and cardiac arrest
  • Recognition and early management of peri-arrest conditions such as symptomatic bradycardia
  • Airway management
  • Related pharmacology
  • Management of ACS and stroke
  • Effective communication as a member and leader of a resuscitation team

This course will prepare you to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies involving adults and children. This is an online only class. The online portion must be completed prior to certification. Allow approximately 1 hours 30 minutes to complete the online portion. Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive a First Aid online only digital certificate valid for two years; from the American Redcross. 

PALS is geared towards healthcare providers who respond to emergencies in infants and children and for personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a course completion card, valid for two years. Please contact your employer to ensure that you are selecting the correct course. 

The PALS Provider Course aims to improve outcomes for pediatric patients by preparing healthcare providers to effectively recognize and intervene in patients with respiratory emergencies, shock, and cardiopulmonary arrest by using high‐performance team dynamics and high‐quality individual skills. The course includes a series of case scenario practices with simulations that reinforce important concepts.
